Default Best 9mm for under $500.00

I want to know, and of course there will be debate, but what is the best 9mm for under $500.00.

Here comes the debate, but best all-around 9mm IMO would be a Glock 19. Even if you doubled that budget, my answer would be the same.

Really hard to give great advice with the little info. Elaboration needed, 'cause if you are just looking for the best bargain 9mm you could get results from Beretta to Walther.

- Full size, compact, or sub-compact?
- Whatcha plan on doing with it? Carry, target, compete?

I am pretty partial to the G19 as well for an all around "combat" 9mm. I do like the full size XDm, but I think it is over $500 new. Never owned an XD, so not really up on the differences between XD and XDm. I do see the XD's listing at under $500 new.

Fit, feel and function for the XDm, to me, is very similar to the Glock anyway. Not sure I like the grip safety, as I see it really providing any additional measure of safety during most handling instances.

So, I am sure you will get some better targeted advice once you narrow it down a little.

M&P. buds usually sells them new at gun shows for 400. Ive never had a misfire/failure out of mine, and that seems to be the norm. I own a glock and a M&P and I prefer the feel of the M&P to that of the glock. If you want to carry, Get a compact.

Actually, since you said full-sized, IMO, the BEST 9mm handgun under $500 would be an H&K USP 9mm. You might have to shop some, but it's doable. Last year I got Mrs. Wyldman one for $450 with 3 mags, and she loves it.

That said, the G17/19 are still ****ed fine handguns.

Torn between G19 and XD9 had both and like them about the same. Ironically I shot the glock better but prefer the feel of the xd.

Glock 19, XD9 Service, M&P 9, any would be ideal.

I would say that its whatever YOU are most confortable with! Try a few out and see how it feels in your hand first of all. With that said do your homework and check reviews online and nothing beats being able to shoot it first! Go to a range that will rent you a few different 9mms and shoot those then go with what fits you best! I have bought my wife a M&P,Glock,Sig,and a S&W 6906 9mm that being said I like the M&P first ,Sig SP2022 second ,and then the Glock. There ya go Troberts how that? Now im in it too.

Default Best 9mm for under $500.00

I've been really impressed with my M&P 9 for accuracy. It would really be a toss up between it and the G19 both are great pistols so the better question is why only buy one??? Since your budget is already shot go ahead and get you a subcompact too. I love spending other peoples money. I need a job in DC

I would say Glock 9mm family, 17, 19, & 34.

But ****, a USP full size in 9mm would rock also.
